HOW

Electro-Coagulation

EC technology eliminates the need for flocculants. Flocculants are made up of a number of chemical and/or minerals that bind solids in waste water to them. Typically these flocculants are then extracted from the waste stream with a filter press. Flocculants are typically bentonite clay based and expand as they absorb moisture. Using flocculants does nothing to eliminate the actual waste you are generating, they simply create a larger hazardous solid waste issue that is expensive to dispose of.

EC technology provides several very key benefits. First, flocculants are completely eliminated. This reduces operating costs by eliminating the need to purchase expensive flocs and by dramatically reducing the solid waste extracted from the waste stream. Second, EC oxidizes heavy metals, pesticides and herbicides, rendering them inert. EC systems generate solids made up only of your waste, not your waste with tons of added floc. Disposal costs are dramatically reduced both because no additional solids are added and because waste constituents are oxidized and rendered inert.
